FREE TAX PREPARATAION
The Bronx Neighborhood Housing Services, in partnership with the New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, proudly operates a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site. This program offers FREE tax preparation services to Bronx residents, specifically targeting low- and moderate-income families.
The VITA site is conveniently located at 1447 E. Gun Hill Road (lower-level) and is staffed by IRS-certified preparers who are trained to help eligible taxpayers maximize their refunds and ensure accurate tax filings.

Once your energy assessment is complete, our team will guide you through eligible energy assistance programs. From rebates to tax credits, we’ll help you navigate the available incentives and programs to make your energy upgrades as affordable as possible.
What to bring?

Government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license or passport)

Social Security cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) for yourself, your spouse, and dependents

W-2 forms, 1099s, or other income statements

Any documents related to deductions or credits, such as childcare expenses, education expenses, or health insurance statements

Bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit of refunds
